High
Ropes Course
High Ropes Courses are an adventurous
experience outdoors where groups work together as a team
to overcome challenges above ground with the guidance of
certified facilitators.
High Ropes Courses are continuations of the teams
course. High Ropes courses are initiatives that individuals
experience on cables and ropes above ground-the bottom cable
used for walking is usually about 18-30 feet above ground
depending on the course. In the high ropes courses, it is
the perceived risk and great sense of challenge and accomplishment
that impact students. This provides a strong metaphor for
other challenges they will have as they enter high school
and the path of continuing education.
Gear Up High Ropes Courses are a series of climbing
and high ropes initiatives. The courses are designed to
build trust, cooperation and to improve the participants
ability to work together as a team. Groups will have the
opportunity to overcome challenging tasks by learning to
work closely together in solving problems and obstacles.
The group shares ideas and thoughts that strengthen teamwork
and cooperation.
This teambuilding experience is customized for Gear Up groups.
To participate in the course with Gear Up, classes are divided
into groups of 8-12 individuals. The courses are are
used for students in 8th grade or older.
