Craig Nash and Robert Valle from GEAR UP announce the laptop winner.

He's interested in physics and astronomy, and also in math. He thinks he might want to go into investment banking or become a stock broker. When he starts Elmhurst in the fall, he'll be the first of his family to go to college in the United States.

Erik says that the GEAR UP college visits helped him decide what sort of school he wanted to go to. In the end however, the financial package tipped his decision. He's received a substantial scholarship to attend Elmhurst. He says there are distinct advantages to the school, its smaller size and the fact that it's close to home are among the top reasons he chose the school.

He's looking forward to starting college and now that he's getting a new lap top, he'll be prepared with one of the major tools a student needs to get off to a good start.
